Situated in the conservation area of Barnston on the Wirral Peninsula, The Fox and Hounds has all the charm and characteristics of a traditional village inn. Our cosy and welcoming atmosphere has maintained its popularity since its doors opened over a century ago creating a warm and friendly environment for enjoying a relaxing drink or a leisurely meal.

The present pub was built about 1911 on the site of an Ale House & Barn.  A lot of the original character was retained when the downstairs living accommodation was converted into drinking space in 1984. The lounge bar is ideal for a quiet drink and makes an ideal dining area at lunchtimes or evenings.

Our homemade hearty menu is served seven days a week along with our popular Sunday roasts served weekly.  Our homemade menu changes regularly to introduce the chefs latest culinary creations including some classic pub dishes with our own Fox and Hounds twist! As well as our mouth-watering selection of desserts that are just too good to resist.

Our traditional bar is well stocked with a fantastic array of real ales to choose from including our locally brewed ale ‘Trappers Hat’ which is brewed just down the road from here in Brimstage, as well a number of guest ales that change regularly.  Not to mention our great selection of over 60 fine malts and whiskies and our carefully selected wine list.  We have a large selection of cold soft drinks as well as our hot choices of coffees, various teas and hot chocolate.

We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly atmosphere creating a homely and relaxing pub for all.  Please if there is anything that you would like to know or request them please just ask a member of the team….after all it’s what we’re here for!
